Black Dog Animal Rescue (BDAR) is happy to announce that both of the dogs recently rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm have successfully been adopted to local families. Tamela, a female husky mix, and Norman, a male mastiff, are enjoying their new homes.
Tamela found her new home in Laramie, and her adopter had this to say, “Tamela (now River Song,) is doing well. She’s already discovered the couch and did jump up on the bed once. She has figured out the doggie door and goes in and out in a very ladylike fashion.” Norman found his forever home with a Cheyenne family that includes two other dogs who also each weigh over 90 pounds. He also now has over two acres of land to explore - rather than a tiny wire cage.
“There was a lot of interest in and excitement about adopting Norman and Tamela. We are grateful they have both found loving homes and are hopeful that other people looking to add a new pet to their family will take advantage of our current adoption promotion before the funding runs out,” said BDAR Executive Director Britney Wallesch. BDAR is currently offering a limited time adoption fee discount, thanks to a generous grant from Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Adoption fees are reduced for dogs larger than 25 lbs. (over the age of 5 months), and cats (over the age of 5 months) while the grant money lasts. BDAR encourages you to view the list of adoptable animals today.
