Happy Endings for Mac (now named Hey)
I am giving you an update about Mac. ( who's name is now Hey). We
received Hey in December 2009, when he was adoptable and had 6 siblings.
Are his siblings local? Kind of thought he would like to see his family
if they are up to it.
I will be sending you a picture later to post on your success page.
Hey is awesome. I know his name is unique but we almost changed his name
to "Handsome". Everyone would say he was so cute and I didn't want to
change his name to cutie. You know it isn't unusual for a dog to always
hear a person say hey this...hey that...especially when they are
puppies...hey get out of there, hey don't chew the toilet paper, hey come
here. Hey was tricky because it is such a word used for disciplining but
he is definitely our Hey....
Hey is getting big and he enjoys being with people. He weighed 30 lbs at
his last vet visit but he gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks between vet visits.
His last visit was 4 weeks ago so he has probably gained another 20 lbs.
We have had to change his crate three times already. I think he is in his
final one...I bought a HUGE one. He loves his crate and sleeps in it at
night. Understands when the lights go out, he is commanded to go to bed
and he goes happily. He has learned some tricks. He waits to eat his food
on command instead of jumping up and being all anxious for his meals. He
is currently being taught how to pray before meals. He is giving us high "5's". He loves squeaky, squeaky, toys. Loves the snow. Doesn't want to
come inside. He is getting to understand the concept of what a Frisbee is
but he doesn't grasp the catching part yet. He likes to walk around the
park with the Frisbee in his mouth as if he is the master dog of Frisbee
catching. He loves posing for pictures. I have signed him up for
obedience classes but they don't start for a few months. I need to get
this leash walking down as he is getting bigger and bigger. He is such an
awesome dog. He is loveable and having him is just a great feeling.
How is his mom? Did she get placed?
Wishing you well and thank you for bringing Hey into our family.
