Did you know that Black Dog Animal Rescue is the only No-Kill animal welfare organization in Cheyenne? Last year, in our first year of operation, we were able to save the lives of over 30 amazing dogs who were deemed "unadoptable" or had simply sat in a shelter too long to be allowed to live anymore. This year, our goal is to double that number. Stop by and visit us from 8:30am-1pm on Saturday, May 9th at A&C Feed, 721 W. 22nd St. in downtown Cheyenne.
We will have several fantastic dogs waiting there for a forever home. Some of our adorable adoptables include Brody, a two year old victim of a hit and run, and Ivey, a 4 year old princess who's family dumped her at the shelter after allowing an unsupervised child to hurt her. Brody has had surgery to repair an injured hip, and Ivey is perfect in every way except for her new found fear of young children, an adult home would be best.
In an attempt to find a great match for every one of our dogs, we do require an application, home visit, and adoption fee. Volunteers will be on sight to discuss each dog's individual needs and personalities and to perform home evaluations. We will also have beautiful, hand crafted cards by C-designs for sale to help you spread the word about No-Kill, and beautiful autographed copies of "Dying to be Marilynn" by local author Yvette Paris, free with a $20 donation.
Adoptions will include a gift bag. Please bring a collar with an ID tag and a leash to take you new friend home. We can be a No-Kill community, supporting BDAR is the first step! Contact us at 307-214-6600 for more information.
