January 11, 2010 - In May 2009, BDAR was very fortunate to begin working with Tressa Wellman, a native of Torrington with a passion for dogs and volunteer work. While BDAR has several fantastic volunteers, all of whom help us succeed and save lives every day, Tressa has often gone above and beyond to help us in any way she can.
Apparently, we aren’t the only ones to recognize the hard work and dedication she has shown. On Saturday, Tressa was presented with the Humanitarian of the Year Award by the Cheyenne Kennel Club for her efforts on behalf of BDAR! We are so proud of Tressa and grateful for the many hours of work she has logged, the tears she has shed, and for her endless enthusiasm.
Tressa is currently fostering her 12th dog for BDAR. But more than that, she routinely takes dogs to the vet for us when other foster homes cannot be as flexible. She helps transport dogs from shelters and to their forever homes. If we’re in need of a home visit or even someone to finalize an adoption, Tressa is our go-to girl. Her dedication to the dogs in her care and her belief in the good work that BDAR is doing are an inspiration to us all.
So, on behalf of all of us at BDAR, and the numerous dogs who have finally found their way home because of her – thank you Tressa, and congratulations!
