Adopt
Black Dog Animal Rescue has a detailed adoption process to help make the best matches of rescue dogs and families. The reason for so much detail is to prevent creating another rescue situation and to ensure a reasonable level of assurance that the arrangement becomes permanent.
- Select a dog from our adoptable choices. We recommend arranging a visit through the BDAR staff at bdar@bdar.org.
- Read and understand the Adoption Contract - a BDAR staff member can answer any questions you may have.
- Fill in the form online
- Or download, print and fill in the Dog Adoption Application and mail it to us at:

- Your application will be reviewed by a BDAR staff member who will be in touch as soon as possible. The staff member may conduct an interview to clarify the information you provided.
- Once you pass the interview and you have signed the Adoption Contract, the dog becomes the newest member of your family.
